New Screen Feature for Microsoft Edge

Microsoft has started testing a new split-screen feature for its browser Edge that lets you open two tabs side by side in a single window.

This feature was first discovered by Reddit user Leopeva64-2 and is available as an experimental option in beta, dev, and canary versions of Microsoft Edge. When enabled, a new button appears next to the address bar that lets you split an Edge window into two separate tabs side-by-side.

While you can already compare tabs side-by-side using the built-in Windows split views to drag and place a tab side by side in Windows, this isn't possible unless you drag the tab all the way to the right or left side of your monitor. This built-in split view in Edge lets you do it with one click, without having to rearrange your tabs or open a new browser window.

Splitting existing tabs into a single window creates a single tab with web pages combined. This means you can create multiple split tabs in Edge and navigate between them. You can also pin these side-by-side tabs, duplicate them, or add them to groups as you would any regular tab. If you need to compare documents or web pages regularly, this feature will come in handy for you.

The new feature of Microsoft Edge is currently limited to only two tabs side by side. Microsoft is currently testing this feature on macOS and Linux as well.
